LCSW · PMH-C · VIRTUAL THERAPY ACROSS ILLINOIS
Hi, I’m Talia, and you can leave the polished version at the door.
No “I'm fine” required. Show up exactly as you are, mess and all, and we'll work from there.
THERAPY FOR INDIVIDUALS IN ILLINOIS
Warm, grounded, and honest about the hard stuff.
I think therapy should do two things: help you understand yourself, and actually help you move forward. So I work in a way that's warm and honest. I'll hold real space for what you're carrying, and I'll also gently challenge the patterns keeping you stuck. (And yes, I use humor. Healing and laughing aren't mutually exclusive.)
A lot of my clients look like they've got it handled. They're capable, thoughtful, and used to being the one everyone leans on. Underneath, they feel overwhelmed, anxious, lonely, or unsure of who they're becoming. My job is to help you put words to that, understand why it's happening, and build tools that make everyday life feel more manageable and a lot more like your own.
There’s no one right timeline for therapy. Some people come for support through a particular season, while others find value in continuing the work over time. What matters to me is that our work feels purposeful and helps you build more clarity, self-compassion, and confidence in making choices that line up with what genuinely matters to you.
CERTIFIED PERINATAL MENTAL HEALTH THERAPIST, CBT, ACT, DBT, ERP
The training behind the warmth.
I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a Certified Perinatal Mental Health specialist (PMH-C) through Postpartum Support International, with advanced training in the emotional realities of pregnancy, postpartum, and the road to parenthood.
I practice from evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Radically Open DBT (RO-DBT), while also drawing from relational, attachment, systems-based, and other therapeutic approaches. I shape therapy around you rather than forcing you into one model. In plain terms, that means we can work on the racing thoughts, the values underneath your decisions, the nervous-system side of panic, relationship patterns, and whatever else is keeping you stuck, depending on what you actually need.
HOW I CAN HELP
The three things I know best.
I work with individuals, both men and women, navigating three connected areas:
Perinatal Mental Health
The moments, planned or not, when life changes and you're left feeling stuck, behind, or unsure what's next. Relationships, direction, identity, grieving a loss, and the strange feeling of outgrowing a version of yourself.
Anxiety, Panic, & OCD
The racing mind, the spiral, the panic that shows up in your body and swears something is wrong. I help you understand it and learn to work with your nervous system instead of fighting it.
Life Transitions
The emotional experience of becoming a parent, from pregnancy through postpartum and beyond. Whether you’re experiencing the physical changes or supporting a partner, this season can bring anxiety, loneliness, identity shifts, and unexpected emotions.
Individual Therapy
Don’t see yourself neatly in one of those? That’s okay. Individual therapy can also support depression, stress, relationship concerns, and the things that are simply hard to put into one category.
These overlap more than people expect. Underneath all three is usually the same thread: feeling alone in something, and wanting someone to actually get it.
A few things people ask.

My style is warm and direct, with humor. I combine genuine compassion with honest, gentle challenge, helping you understand the “why” behind what you feel while building real tools for change. I want our work to feel purposeful and support lasting growth, whether you’re here for a particular season or choose to continue therapy over time.

A first session is mostly about getting to know each other and what brought you in. There's no pressure to have it all figured out. We'll talk through what's going on and start mapping where you want to go.

No. Perinatal mental health is just one of my specialties. I also work with people navigating anxiety, panic, OCD and major life transitions. I also provide individual therapy for people whose concerns don’t fit neatly into one category and who simply want support making sense of what they’re feeling, changing patterns, or moving through a difficult season.

All of my sessions are virtual and available to clients located anywhere in Illinois, so you can meet from wherever you feel most comfortable.
